Thanks for watching!
Full recipe: Ah, donuts. You are so loved. These donuts are more of the dense, cake variety. If you want those deep fried, pillowy donuts, you are going to need yeast, as well as a lot of oil. So I opted for the healthier version. You can probably use any sort of cake recipe you want and just put them in a donut pan, though. I found my donut pan at bed Bath and Beyond, but you can get them on Amazon as well.
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 tbsp nut butter or coconut oil
1/2 small banana, mashed
1 flax egg (1 tbsp ground flax seed + 3 tbsp water)
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 cup almond milk
Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl. Whisk until well combined. Mix all other ingredients together in a separate bowl, in the order written. Stir to combine. Add the wet to the dry and mix well. Pour gently into a donut pan, filling each donut almost full.
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
splash of vanilla (about 1/2 tsp)
splash of almond milk (enough to make it as thick or thin as you want)
Mix all ingredients together. To glaze the donuts, flip them upside down and swirl it around until the top is coated. Pull it out slowly so the glaze doesn’t drip everywhere. Let it harden for 10 minutes before serving.
